To know the brain... is equivalent to ascertaining the material course of thought and will, to discovering the intimate history of life in its perpetual duel with external forces.
— Santiago Ramón y Cajal

Originally from the town of Rugby, I studied for my bachelors in Music Technology and Neuroscience at Keele University. I then went to Aston University where I got my PhD in Neuroscience under the supervision of Tim Meese. During that time I visited Robert Hess at McGill Vision Research in Montreal. I fell in love with the city while I was there, and came back to work as a postdoctoral research fellow as soon as I could.
